There will be a “Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls” program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. The programs will be held on Monday and Wednesdays October 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 27, 29 and November 3.
Classes will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital; 1401 S. Park Street, El Dorado Springs.
Participants learn to set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance.
The workshop is grant funded and open to the public. Pre-registration is required by calling the Cedar County Extension Office at (417) 276-3313 by October 1. A workbook is provided.
For more information contact Saralee Jamieson, Human Development Specialist, at (417) 646-2419.
