BATES COUNTY, Mo – The Bates County Career Women’s Forum will be held this Saturday, September 13th in the Community Room of the First Assembly of God Church in Butler.
The theme this year is “Learning from the Past – Changing Lives for the Future” and will feature two speakers. Ann Spivak worked for the Kansas City Star for 23 years and currently is the Development Director for the Genesis School; and Peggy Buhr, Bates County Museum Director.
The Bates County Career Women sponsors annual scholarships to women making transitions in their lives. This year’s recipients are:
Tonja Roberts from Butler is attending Avilla University, where she will receive her Bachelor’s Degree this year.
Autumn Gregory is a Rich Hill High School graduate and is attending Pittsburg State University majoring in History.
Angela Osborn from Rich Hill has been attending Bryan University online to pursue a degree as a Litigation Paralegal.
Jenny Taylor from Adrian is working toward her Nursing Degree as an LPN.
We congratulate all the recipients of this year’s scholarships.
Registration begins at 8:30am and the meeting will begin at 9am. Advanced cost of the tickets is just $20 per person and may be purchased form Alice Jennings of Butler, Edie’s Collectibles and What to Wear on the Butler square.
A homemade brunch and fashion show is just part of the festivities planned for the day, as well as dozens of door prizes.
