Patricia Pike Filling Ballot Vacancy in November

The 126th House District Committee met Tuesday in Nevada, Missouri, to choose a new nominee following Saturday’s death of Rep. Randy Pike.

Committee Chairman Jerry Wadel says Patricia Pike was chosen in a close vote of the 20-member panel.

She edged out Patty York, who had run against Randy Pike in the 2012 primary. She also was chosen over Bill Yarberry, who ran against her husband in the past two GOP primaries.

Patricia Pike will face Democrat Sam Foursha and Constitution Party candidate William Gilmore in the November election. Randy Pike had served for 12 years on the Bates County Commission before winning election to the House in 2012.

Fm92 spoke with Patricia Pike and she will release a statement concerning the nomination at a later time.
