BUTLER, MO – September 15, 2014) – On Monday, Sept. 8, the Bates County 4-H Council met to kick-off the start of the new 4-H year. The meeting was held at the First Community Bank in Butler, MO. Four clubs were represented at the meeting. Member enrollment for the 2014/2015 year begins Oct. 1, and will be done on-line this year.
National 4-H week is Oct. 5-11, and the theme for the window displays is “#iam4H”. Window displays need to be in placed by Friday, Oct. 3 and will be judged that night. All 4-H award/scholarship applications need to be submitted to the Extension office by Sept. 15. The awards will be announced at the Recognition Celebration on Sunday, Nov. 2 at First Christian Church at 2:00 pm.
New Council Officers were elected: President – Morgan Bradley, Vice-President – Ella Armentrout, Secretary – Allison Jenkins, Treasurer – Reba Colin, Reporter – Harrison Wepener, Adult Advisors – Susan Anderson and Carla Armentrout.
The next Bates County 4-H Council meeting will be Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at Community First Bank Basement.
