Bates County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Receives Grant

BATES COUNTY, Mo - The Bates County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security has received a $1,000 Safe Community grant from the Enbridge Energy Company.  Ron Nissen, Director stated the grant will be used to purchase communication equipment the organization needs.

The Enbridge Safe Community Program provides grants to emergency responders in areas of Enbridge operations to help departments secure equipment and training.

The Bates County Memorial Hospital recently received a $996 grant from Enbridge Energy which will be used to support the Bates County Emergency Medical Services at the hospital.

Since the program began in 2002, Enbridge has provided more than 1,500 grants to fire, police and EMS departments in U.S. communities.
