Something Old, Something New

BUTLER, MO – Most men who live in Bates County and needed a haircut, chances are you visited Lowell Logan in the South Side Barber Shop. The shop opened in 1952 and was in business until the sudden passing of Lowell on March 24, 2014. Since that time the shop went dark and remained so throughout the summer.

Greg Mullinax, of the Mullinax Funeral Home, is pleased to announced the “lights are back on” in the much loved shop, and South Side Cuts will be open for business Saturday, September 6th from 9am – 2pm.

Cindy Kukovich Billings brings 19 years of experience and has the expertise for any style or need. Cindy will continue in the shop on a daily basis, and as soon as Greg’s license becomes active, he will be joining Cindy in the 2nd chair as time allows. The shop is open to men, women and children.

The “something old” is the fond memories that everyone holds dear of Lowell, his barber shop and the wonderful conversations held during your haircut; and the “something new” is a vintage, classy shop that is still reminiscent of the South Side everyone loved and remembered, but with new people behind the chairs.

Stop by on Saturday and take a look at South Side Cuts and say hello to Cindy. It’s good to see the lights on again in a building on the Butler Square.
