Last Thursday the Butler Bears track team traveled to Lamar for chilliest track meet yet. We have been spoiled by great weather so far so any time the wind blows or we have to put on a hoodie we think the it is going to snow. This was a great meet for us to attend. There were 22 schools in attendance and out of the 22 we have previously seen 3. We faced Class 3 schools along with very strong Class 2 schools. We had some outstanding numbers show up due to this different competition. Lamar scored the top 6 places on Thursday.
The Butler Boys placed 4th place and here are the top 6 athletes who earned their team points:
200m Dash – Tanner Diehl – 6th place
400m Dash – Austin Castaneda – 2nd place with a time of 51.06; Tanner Diehl – 5th place with at time of 52.6
800m Run – Austin Castaneda – 4th place with a time of 2:06.4
300m Hurdles – Devan Loveall – 2nd place with a new PR time of 41.92
4×100 Relay- Devan Loveall – 5th place
Dylan Morris
Ben Holt
Ethan Gardner
4×200 Relay – Devan Loveall – 2nd place with a time of 1:34.7

4×400 Relay – Devan Loveall – 3rd place with a time of 3:35.97
Kaleb Kauffman

Austin Castaneda
Pole Vault – Ethan Gardner – 2nd place with a vault of 12′
Our next meet is Monday 27th at the Midway Relays. This is a fun meet for our athletes and a time to take the focus off of their normal events and actually have fun. We use this meet as a conditioning meet and to have fun, so I tend to put kids in completely different events than what they are use to. We have 2 more meets left until our Conference meet next Monday. Wish these kids good luck as they finish out the year.
