On Monday the Butler Bears track team traveled to Skyline for a key track meet. Skyline is hosting the district track meet, so we found it important to get ourselves familiar with the facility, people, and competing teams.
It was the coldest meet of the year so far, but the competition was great. It is always nice to get the mid-season reality check about what we have to do to get better. There were 20 schools in attendance and the Bears pulled out a 5th place finish. Here are the athletes who earned their team points:
100m Dash – Ben Holt – 8th place
4×200 Relay – Devan Loveall – 2nd place
Dylan Morris
Tanner Diehl
Kaleb Kauffman

All in all the team performed well. We scored points in some spots our team has never seen before. Now that our kids are starting to believe in what they are doing, I would like to see those individual scores rise which in turn helps the team score rise. Our next track meet is scheduled for Thursday April 16 in Adrian. Wish these kids good luck.
