BUTLER, Mo – Many times tragedy happens to someone else, we don’t think about it and our world isn’t affected. This was not the case for fm92’s morning DJ Diane Bartels. Yesterday she received a telephone call that completely changed her world. Her daughter Sarah Chamberlain’s house caught on fire yesterday afternoon and everything that Sarah, her husband and their three children, Myra, 5; Pierce, 3 and 1 year old Ellie had was lost.
How would you feel if you woke up this morning with only the clothes on your back? What items you use each day that you take for granted? Such is the case with the Chamberlains.
The family has an immediate need of personal hygiene products like deodorant, shaving cream, razors, soap, shampoo, tooth brushes and tooth paste. The children need size 4 diapers, hair brushes and hair ties, diaper rash cream, baby powder and wipes and a few toys for the children to play with.
Children don’t understand why their favorite toy they have grown to love is gone. Myra likes anything to do with the movie “Frozen; Pierce loves trucks and Ellie just likes toys she can hold in her hand. They DO NOT need clothing or furniture, just personal items.
A gofundme account for monetary donations has been set up under the name “the chamberlains recovery fund.” If you can’t donate personal items, then perhaps you can make a donation in any amount, which will be greatly appreciated.
Fm92 has set up a box in the lobby and we will make sure that any and all donations will get to the family. Take the time to pay it forward; it might be your family tomorrow that is in need.
