BATES COUNTY, Mo – The Butler Public Library has the honor to have been selected as one of only 25 libraries in the US to host a NASA Science4Girls / Astro4Girls and Their Families event. This is the third year for the Butler Public Library has been honored and chosen.
The event will be held on April 11th in the Butler High School Gym where two separate programs will be presented. The first – “What Happens in a Black Hole Stays in a Black Hole’ will be from 10 – 11am with a presentation by Neta Apple.
The “Fun with Science Open House” will be held between 10am and 2pm in the Butler High School Gym Lobby drop in any time and join in the fun. There will be activities for everyone, free door prizes for kids as well as touching real meteroites, which includes samples from the Moon and Mars.
Saturday evening from 7:30 – 10pm, there will be “Star Party” at the Butler Public Library (weather permitting) at 100 W. Atkinson Street, where everyone will be able to view the wonders of the night sky. Bring your lawn chair or blankets if you want to sit on the grass.
It will be a full day of family science fun on Saturday, April 11th.
