Bates/Vernon Counties:- Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on I-49 in Bates and Vernon Counties for a resurfacing project beginning the week of April 13, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will resurface approximately 20 miles between Bates County Route AB in Rich Hill and Route 54 Nevada.
The project also will upgrade guardrail in areas.
In addition to lane closures, drivers will experience a reduced speed limit of 60 mph through the work zones.
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
The project also includes resurfacing Route 18 in Bates County between Adrian and Merwin. That project is expected to begin later in the summer.
